About me
My name is Benjamin, but people usually call me Benni (or Beni, sometimes Benny, sometimes Benji). I have a background in information management and technology management and have worked in various big German corporations on several digital transformation projects (e-commerce, mobility, mobile payment, customer loyalty programs) for the last years (as an employee and as a consultant). I am not a builder myself, but have worked with and in many different software delivery teams over the years, mostly as a business analyst and product person. I currently live in Munich, Germany.
My passion is observing the world. Real world evidence matters. You can only try to make sense of what is happening if you have data (does not have to be quantitative data, but real world evidence). To me that means listening/talking to people, reading books (or consuming long-form content in any form), traveling the world, a bit of Twitter. Over the last few years I was observing what is happening at the intersection of bits and atoms. I followed Tesla and SpaceX closely over the last decade, and it was fascinating to see what becomes possible when you blend hardware and software. With the advent of AI and advanced robotics, I think the golden age of hardware is just about to begin!
In my free time I like going for a run, going for mountain hikes between spring and autumn or skiing in winter. A lot of my free time I spend reading books and watching talks / listening to podcasts about all kinds of topics (tech, business, physics/science, history, politics, you name it). I like eating and cooking. Besides all that, I decided to write a book about Tesla (and SpaceX), which was arguably a good and bad decision. I have learned a lot, but it was painful to get there. This will probably be my first and last book.
Feel free to shoot me an email or follow me on Twitter/X. Happy to get in touch and talk about everybody and his dog! And thanks for reading my book! :)
